National Program Support Office (NaPSO)
NAPSO has been established with the aim to provide support for implementation to the key projects and programs that are facing bottlenecks, and to achieve objective of monitoring of important on-going public/private projects, independent from planning and implementing agencies, and provide valuable inputs to the government for concurrent decision making and corrective action for efficient and effective management of projects.
The NaPSO is a tool to keep real time track of the implementation of Government key policies, programs, and projects, and the ability to provide a progressive positive contribution to overcoming obstacles, time-lags, and criticism towards the implementation of reform initiatives within the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, boosting direct and indirect investment, and improving the design, efficiency, effectiveness, sustainability, and impact of polices, programs, and project initiatives.
NaPSO will also help in identifying problems or obstacles that affect program implementation process, suggest remedial measures, provide review notes including the strengths and weaknesses of the project implementation teams to complete the implementation within the stipulated timeframe.
Its main functions cover the following:
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Public Sector Oversight and Support
- Private Sector Support
- Evaluation and Analysis
The NaPSO is a mechanism to support and provide suggestion for any evolved bottlenecks which will impact or slowing down the projects implementation.
