Civil Society Dialogue Meeting on First Draft of ANDSThe objective of this meeting, chaired by Mr. Adib Farhadi, Director of the ANDS, was to gather CSOs’ comments and inputs on the first draft of the ANDS. All participants watched a 15 minute snapshot of the Sub National Consultation process on the sector strategies and Provincial Development Plan (PDP) development process. The video showed broad and active participation of sub national stakeholders (CDCs, DDAs and PDCs, youth, disabled, Kuchies, NGOs and  PRT representatives, governors, government sectoral heads and line ministry representatives).

Sub National / Pilot Sub National Consultations...
Third round of sub national consultations successfully completed in Kabul Today, the third round of sub-national consultations was successfully completed in Kabul, with the last of all 34 provinces concluding discussions with ministry representatives from the sectors of Education, Health, Agriculture and Roads (Transport) on the implementation of the priority projects from all provinces.

Public Awareness...
Cabinet Economic Council MeetingH.E. Zia Masoud, First Vice President opened the meeting. H.E. highlighted the importance and impact of roads for the overall development of Afghanistan, particularly in relation to economic growth, poverty reduction and regional cooperation. H.E. Dr. Rassoli, Deputy Minister of Public Works presented a detailed presentation on the MPW Strategy, achievements in roads (Regional, National Highways, Provincial roads and Rural Roads) and current challenges.

The Non-Aligned Movement, Afghanistan in the past, present and futureAfghanistan was impartial during the First and Second World War and this factor paved the way for Afghanistan to be a member of the Non-Aligned Movement. Afghanistan, unlike Pakistan and Iran, did not accept to enter into military alliance with the West. Afghanistan attended the Non-Aligned Movement Conferences held in Bandung, Indonesia in April 1955.
